Web3D Symposium
|
|
The VISTA project and the VISIONS RC1 release will be both presented at the "3D and mixed reality: an European Research Panorama" session during the Web3D symposium that will occur in Saint Malo - France, in March 2003.
This symposium will focus on the frontiers of 3D technologies and multimedia.
The annual Web3D Symposium is a major event in the Web3D community which unites researchers,
developers, experimenters, and artists in a dynamic learning environment. Attendees share and explore methods of using,
enhancing or creating new 3D web technology such as MPEG4, VRML, X3D, and Java3D.
The program includes technical and commercial presentations, tutorials, workshops, t
rade show and web3d art show.

VISIONS RC1 Release

The VISIONS RC1 release will be officially presented in Toulouse on the 18th of October. This version will be provided to a number of end-users for validation.

The VISTA trial
|
|
The VISIONS consortium is pleased to announce the VISTA project. This 18 month trial aims to adapt, fine-tune, customise and improve VISIONS
towards the advertising industry's needs for authoring storyboards.
The VISTA project aims at introducing this new technology in the advertising industry, and evaluating its
economic benefits.

VISIONS Release Beta 2

The Beta Release 2 of the software has been demonstrated at the MILIA 2002 exhibition that occured in Cannes.

VISIONS beta release

The beta release of the VISIONS product will be officially released at IBC 2001 in the Nederlands.
Located in the 77,000 gross square metres of the eleven halls of the excellent Amsterdam RAI the IBC exhibition is the world's premier electronic media event.

VISIONS presentation

The VISIONS alpha version has been publically presented at the Idt/Net 2001 exhibition.
Idt/Net2001, the 18th edition of France's sole, largest professional information & internet exhibition took place on 29, 30 and 31 May in the Palais des Congrès, a prestige venue at the heart of Paris.

The official alpha release of the VISIONS product has been released and provided to end-users in March 2001.

IST 2000 Conference
|
|
An early alpha version of the VISIONS product has been demonstrated at the IST 2000 conference.

VISIONS Technical Meetings
|
|
A set of two technical meetings occured in Toulouse in August 2000 at CS-SI premises.
The specification and design of the VISIONS system have been discussed during these meetings
by CS-SI, CREATEC and Artemedia.

VISIONS First Review Meeting
|
|
The first review meeting occured in Paris in March 2000 at CS-SI premises. The VISIONS
Consortium has presented the progress of the project to the European Commission.

VISIONS First Technical Meeting
|
|
The first technical meeting occured in London in May 2000 at NFTS premises. The VISIONS
Consortium has dicuss the overall system architecture as well as virtual character animation issues.

IEP Concertation Meeting
|
|
The VISIONS consortium has been invited to present the project at the first concertation meeting of the
Interactive Electronic Publishing (IEP) sector organised by the European Commission.
|
Second VR World Congress
|
|
The VISIONS consortium has been invited to present the project during the
second VR World Congress, an event hosted by the UK Department of Trade & Industry
and sponsored by the European Commission.
This day gave the opportunity to learn, build relationships and influence
the thinking of DTI and the European Commission in respect of future support
for the VR community.

VISIONS First End-User Meeting

The first end-user meeting occured in Milan in March 2000 at Giunti Multimedia premises.

World Symposium On Network Media
|
|
The VISIONS project has been presented in Poitiers during the second World Symposium On Network Media, a World Forum dedicated to
thinking about the Information Society and the Information Marketplace.

VISIONS Kick Off Meeting

The VISIONS project kick off occured in January 2000 in Toulouse at CS-SI premises.
